Timing is funny. I’m reading these lovely poems not long after watching ‘A Complete Unknown.’ Woody Guthrie must have been very close to despair as he had to watch what was happening to his body and what was happening to the world. Music must have kept him going. Music and poetry. Bulwarks against despair.
