book sounds interesting, though ordinarily, as i saw diamanda galas twice & had that first swans album when it came out, i would dismiss anyone who claimed to cover this period & this subject without mentioning them. oh well. history is written by the winners & there were an awful lot then who were not.

It's a decent book but I desired a bigger book on religious controversy in the 80s. Agreed, the focus on NY and Catholicism feels arbitrary
